2023 Canberra Runners Half Marathon

We Run CBR: The Canberra Runners are proud to host the 2023 Canberra Runners Half Marathon

The Canberra Runners Half Marathon will be held late Autumn (21 May 2023), following the paths around the west basin of Lake Burley Griffin on beautiful Ngunnawal land. The course is undulating and offers views of Australia’s national landmarks including Government House, Parliament House and the National Museum. You will run a path less travelled, through a spectacular cork plantation, eucalypt and pine forests and close to exotic animals at the Canberra Zoo and Aquarium. You really will Run Cbr!

The race starts and finishes in Lennox Gardens which is easily accessed via public transport or car. Cut-off for completion of the event is 3 hours 30 minutes.

Registration: The Canberra Runners Half Marathon is one of the most beautiful and affordable half marathons in Australia. Early bird entry fees are $50 for members of Canberra Runners and ACTMA and $75 for non-members. After 31 March entry fees will be $65 for members and $89 for non‑members.

Entries close at 7pm on 19 May. Late entries will not be accepted.

Participants must be 16 years of age on or before 21/05/2023 to register for the Canberra Runners Half Marathon. Non-registered persons will not be permitted to participate. This includes children in prams. Events for children will be held in and around Lennox gardens in the morning. This page will be updated with details and further information will follow on Facebook and Instagram.

As much as we love our pooches, all animals are strictly prohibited from entering any part of the course at any time. However, we welcome dogs on leads in the race village.

Medals: Finisher’s medals can be purchased with your registration for $7 and can be collected immediately after the race. The Canberra Runners are conscious of the need not to produce additional environmental waste in the form of unwanted medals. As a result, entry fees have been kept low but we have introduced this nominal fee to ensure that medals are only provided to competitors who want one.

Drink Stations and Recovery Area: Hydration on the course is sponsored by Fixx Nutrition. Fixx Nutrition Fuel X in the Tropical Fruits flavour will be available at aid stations and the recovery area. Water will also be available. Fuel X contains electrolytes and carbohydrates. If you plan to use the product on race day, it is recommended that you train with it beforehand. For more tips on how to train with Fixx Nutrition, please go to https://fixxnutrition.com/running-nutrition/

Race Day: Canberra Runners Half Marathon starts at 8am on Sunday 21 May.

Prizes and medals: will be awarded to the first three males and females.

Race Bibs: may be collected on the Saturday afternoon (20 May) between 1pm and 3pm (preferred) or from 7-7:40am on Sunday morning (21 May) in the race village.
