Overview

Step Up to Half is Canberra Runners’ Half Marathon training program designed to help you finish the Canberra Runners Half Marathon with a smile on your face.

Who should register?

This training program is designed for those who:

  • – Want to run the Canberra Runners Half Marathon.
  • – Have never run a half marathon before.
  • – Run regularly and want to step up to a half marathon distance.
  • – Need some running buddies.

It would be preferable that participants can run 5k reasonably comfortable.

Please note, this training program is for 18 years or older.

2024 Program

Commencing: 17 February 2024.

Duration: 13 weeks.

Cost: Canberra Runners member $150, non-member $215 and includes membership for one year.

When: Starting on Saturday 17 February 2024, we train three mornings a week: Tuesday and Thursday (6:30 a.m to 7:30 a.m) and Saturday (from 7:00 a.m.) for 13 weeks.

Location: Kuttabul Place, Acton – near the end of the footbridge and water bubbler at Acton Beach.

Included in your registration fee is:

  • – A free Running and Shoe Assessment with a Podiatrist at the Walking Clinic.
  • – A free Injury Screening Assessment with a Physiotherapist at the Canberra Physio Clinic.
  • – A twenty-dollar ($20) voucher and from The Runners Shop.
  • – An information session with representatives from the above sponsors talking all things shoes and running.
  • – 12 months membership with Canberra Runners.
  • – A free collapsible cup from Canberra Runners.
  • – Free registration for the Canberra Runners Half Marathon on 19 May 2024.

All sessions are coached by an accredited coach with support coaches and runners. 

Join us for a coffee or breakfast at a local café following the Saturday run, a great opportunity for a catchup with other runners.
