Canberra Runners Half Marathon
Canberra Runners Half Marathon
The Canberra Half Marathon has been run for over 50 years. It is a fine community event, and one of the three major events now conducted annually by the Canberra Runners Inc.
The start and finish are at Lennox Gardens in Yarralumla which is easily accessed via public transport or car. The 21.1 km course begins on Flynn Drive and Alexandrina Drive which are closed for the event, and then follows the beautiful West Basin loop clockwise around Lake Burley Griffin. The course is undulating and offers views of Australia’s national landmarks including Government House, Parliament House and the National Museum.
The run is conducted in accordance with Canberra Runners Half Marathon Race Rules, and participants must be registered in advance. Volunteers encourage and cheer on competitors on the course, and provide refreshments in the race village at Lennox Gardens at the end.
Presentations are made after the event, with a perpetual trophy for the male and female winners, cash prizes for the first three male and female finishers, and recognition of the age group winners.
Full race results are provided shortly after the event, and subsequently published with the results of all the Canberra Half Marathons on https://canberrarunner.com.au/
