Mini Jog
Mini Jog
Why take your kids to Mini Jog?
Mini Jog events are all about participation and fun! They are designed to encourage kids to get out and get active by providing a physical challenge in a friendly and social environment. Place ribbons and barrel draw prizes are awarded at every event. There is also a year-long point score competition with a boy’s and girl’s perpetual trophy.
What would your kids do?
There is a 2 km course along trails and footpaths of Weston Park. The course is out and back, and there is a turn marshal at the 1 km point. The run is conducted in a handicap format (staggered start depending on age and previous run time) which provides everyone an opportunity to win.
When and where are the events held?
Mini Jog is held in Weston Park on the first Sunday of every month. It starts at 8 am during spring/summer (from October to April) and 9 am during autumn/winter (May to September).
The start begins from Pescott Lane, near the corner with Weston Park Road and adjacent to the Weston Park mini railway. See location here.
It is an out and back course beginning on the dirt path followed by the cycle path around Weston Park. The course is marked and experienced volunteers Marshals are there to guide your kids. It is safe and manageable for young children.
How much does it cost?
Mini Jog is free to members. Non-members are welcome and the entry fee is $2. To join as a member, please click here.
What if?
First aid kit and experienced marshals are available. For kids 6 years and under, a parent or a family member is encouraged to take part in the run.
Jogalong is held in conjunction with Mini Jog and provides an opportunity for mothers to run on the same day. More details, including Mini Jog results in the Jogalong Jottings, can be found here.
